Anna will be responsible overseeing the implementation for the recently released workforce study.

For the past 10 years, Chafin served as the CEO for the Development Authority of Bryan County. She has worked in economic development in coastal Georgia for almost 20 years.

Anna received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Mercer University with minors in Business Administration and English. She is a graduate of the Georgia Academy for Economic Development, Leadership Bryan, Leadership Southeast Georgia, and Leadership Georgia.

Anna has held various leadership positions in the Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA), including chairing the organization in 2017. Anna is a past chair of the GSFC board,  the Georgia Economic Developers Association, and the LSEGA Alumni Association.

In 2015, Anna was named one of the Top 5 under 40 by Richmond Hill Reflections magazine. Anna and her husband, Justin, are proud parents of their young son Samuel. The family lives in Richmond Hill.

In 2022, Anna received the GEDA Rip Wiley Award for Professional Excellence and the Emerging Leader Award from the Southeast Georgia Leadership Forum.

Anna Chafin was appointed to the GSFC Board of Commissioners in June 2015 and reappointed in November 2020. Her term expires November 2026.
