FAFSA Completion Events

According to the National College Access Network, 85 percent of students have a chance to receive financial aid by doing just one thing: completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

From 2016 to 2017, Georgia increased the number of completed FAFSA applications by 13 percent, but there’s still money being left on the table. In fact, over $2 billion in free federal grant money was left available to high school graduates in 2016.

Each year, GSFC works with high schools, colleges and community organizations to host free FAFSA completion events across the state. These events bring financial aid professionals from colleges and universities along with volunteers to assist college-bound students and their families complete the FAFSA.

Research has shown 90 percent of high school graduates who filed a FAFSA enrolled directly in a postsecondary program. Learn more about FAFSA Completion Events on GAfutures.org.
