Lawrenceville, GA – The Georgia Student Finance Commission and Gwinnett Technical College will host high school students and their families for GEORGIA MATCH Days on Wednesday, November 13, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., at Gwinnett Technical College. GEORGIA MATCH Days are free events for students and families to learn more about their options after high school, such as attending college, entering the workforce, military enlistment, and entrepreneurship. Students may register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/georgia-match-day-gwinnett-technical-college-tickets-1022699871847.

“Gwinnett Technical College is proud to participate in the GEORGIA MATCH program and offer an opportunity for high school students in our region to learn more about their postsecondary options,” said Dr. Glen Cannon, president. “Our college is offering application fee waivers to Georgia high school seniors through GEORGIA MATCH this November to make the college application process simple and accessible.”

GEORGIA MATCH is one of the largest and most successful state-run direct admissions programs in the country. This October, over 137,000 Georgia public and private high school seniors in the Class of 2025 were mailed a personalized GEORGIA MATCH direct admission letter showing which public colleges and universities in Georgia are holding a spot for them. Students may also view an electronic copy of their GEORGIA MATCH letter at gafutures.org/GEORGIAMATCH.

The number of schools listed on a GEORGIA MATCH letter is determined by the student’s 11th grade HOPE GPA and freshman index score. All students will receive a letter of academic eligibility for admission to twenty-two Technical College System of Georgia institutions. Students with higher GPAs will also see up to twenty-three University System of Georgia institutions on their letter. Georgia College & State University, the Georgia Institute of Technology, and the University of Georgia are not participating in the GEORGIA MATCH program, as they utilize a holistic admissions process.

Outreach Representatives from the Georgia Student Finance Commission will be available to help students claim their spot at institutions on their GEORGIA MATCH letter, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), learn about scholarships, grants, and service cancelable student loans, and offer guidance on how to utilize November application fee waivers.

GEORGIA MATCH is an education and workforce initiative of Governor Kemp, developed in collaboration with the Governor’s Office of Planning & Budget, Governor’s Office of Student Achievement, Georgia Department of Education, Georgia Student Finance Commission, Technical College System of Georgia, and University System of Georgia. Students may view their personalized GEORGIA MATCH list and learn more at gafutures.org/GEORGIAMATCH.
