Mr. Weidner graduated cum laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a joint degree in history and political science. Weidner is also a graduate of Georgia State University’s College of Law. He has been elected to the Habersham County Board of Education and was appointed to the Board of Directors of Georgia Superior Court Clerks' Cooperative Authority by Governor Nathan Deal.

Mr. Weidner was appointed to the GSFC Board of Commissioners in May 2024, and his term expires December 2028.
